Current Favorites

Wow, I haven’t done a Current Favorites blog post since August of last year. I’m making a promise to myself right now to share my current favorites more often here on my blog. I’ve made a lot of changes in my life recently: I quit my job that I had been working at for almost a year, I started working at my new job, I’ve been working out more frequently, and I dyed my hair.

Hair by Julianna Deanda

At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about having dark hair again. It came out a lot dark than I was expecting. However, Juliana Deanda ‘AKA’ my hair dresser and the only person I trust to do my hair anymore did such an amazing job on my hair that it quickly won me over. Here’s what else I’m loving right now.

Floral in the Fall

IMG_0198

I picked up this two piece set from Target knowing that it would transition perfectly from the summer into fall. The wonderful thing about two piece sets are that you have endless options when it comes to creating outfits. Sticking to my minimalist style, I paired this look with my favorite pair of flats.

What’s wonderful about this top is that it’s versatile too. You can wear it off the shoulder. You can take your arms out of the sleeves and tie them together in the back to create a bandeau top or you can simply tuck into your skirt like I did.

Photo Diary: Chicago

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Today I’m sharing photos from my trip to Chicago last month. I had been promising my friend Phillip that I would visit him when he moved to Chicago since we graduated from high school and I finally did… 6 years later. We went to The Field Museum, took a water taxi on Lake Michigan, drank strawberry mojitos at The Signature Room, rode razor scooters at Maggie Daley Park, saw Cloud Gate ‘AKA’ “The Bean,” hit up the bars in Boystown, and of course I experienced all the great food Chicago has to offer like their famous deep dish pizza. Although I could certainly do without the drastic changes in weather, Chicago was incredible and I cannot wait to visit again soon in another 6 years.

A special thank you to my friend Phillip. Thank you for housing me, feeding me, entertaining me, and showing me your beautiful city.
