I am so excited to incorporate outfit posts here on A.R.G. One of my favorite parts of my day is waking up in the morning and getting ready for the day. I enjoy doing my hair and makeup, on the days when I decide to actually do my hair and makeup, and I love putting an outfit together. I was inspired by my lovely friend, blogger, and YouTuber Ana Duarte and her Fourth of July Outfit Ideas video.

Okay, Ladies

All I wanted were genuinely good people in my life who would not abandon me, especially during times when I needed them most. I used to feel an excruciating amount of guilt over the circumstances of my life much of which I had no control over. People in my life began to disappear one by one. Making plans felt like pulling teeth and most of the times plans would fall through. I remember sitting in my room alone my eyes filled with tears as I stared at my phone that had been flooded with last minute cancellations.

“You need better friends,” my brother Aarron said.

All I could say was, “I know.”

All I can think about now is how fortunate I am to have a group of women in my life that I can call friends. All I wanted were genuinely good people in my life who would not abandon me, especially when I needed them most, and I have found those people. They do not make me feel guilty over the circumstances of my life. They stuck around. They make time for me in their busy lives and I make time for them. They have never left me sitting in my room alone eyes filled with tears. They support me and inspire me.

To Tauveve, Sophie, Haita, Brooke, and Keisha:

Thank you for showing me what true friendship is like. You are always there for me, especially when I need you the most and without hesitation or judgement. I am so thankful to have you in my life. There is no doubt in my mind that you will continue to be apart of it. It’s hard to imagine my life without you and in fact, I don’t want to. All I wanted were genuinely good people in my life and that’s what you are: genuinely good people. I am so proud to call you my friends. I am so proud of everything that you have accomplished so far and everything that you will accomplish in the future. Each and every one of you is killing it in your own way. I love you ladies.

Photo Diary: From Washington to Oregon to California

On Friday afternoon, I said, “See you later,” to the place I have called home for the past 3 years. Of course, not before stopping by The Mason Jar one last time. I stopped in Wenatchee for the weekend for one of my best friends, Keisha’s, wedding. Sunday morning I drove 6 hours to Bend, Oregon where I stayed the night to rest, order takeout, and watch Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

While driving on my way to Oregon, the GPS on my phone took me on an unexpected route where I stumbled upon this beautiful location.

When I arrived in Oregon, I immediately ordered take out and put on the game. I worked on Monday’s blog post, “What’s On Face” which you can see here and stressed out over Sunday night’s episode of Game of Thrones.

On Monday afternoon, I was off on my next adventure and my final destination was California. It was roughly about an 8 hour drive until I reached my destination. This was my 4th time driving this route. If you have never taken a long road trip by yourself, you should. I highly recommend it. There is nothing more freeing than driving with your windows rolled down blasting Lemonade and singing at the top of your lungs.

When I finally made it into town, I was greeted by a beautiful California sunset and homemade tacos. “Home is where the tacos are.” I am so happy to be back in California for awhile until I start my next adventure in Virginia.

What’s On My Face

I’m pretty simple when it comes to my makeup. I am a creature of habit so I tend to stick to the same makeup products and the same makeup routine. While I am a creature of habit, every once in awhile, I’ll stumble upon a new product or I’ll want to try something new.

I recently started using the Mario Badescu Facial Spray after hearing some of my favorite YouTubers rave about it, but wasn’t until I ran out of this stuff did I realize how much I loved it. I have also been using the CoverGirl Clean Matte BB Cream. It didn’t take much for me to fall in love with this product.

On most days during the summer, I cannot be bothered with makeup, but when I do decide to wear makeup, here’s what’s on my face:

Mario Badescu Facial Spray
Make Up For Ever Mattifying Primer
NYX Micro Brow Pencil
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel
CoverGirl Clean Matte BB Cream in 530
RCMA No-Color Powder
Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette
L’Oreal Glam Bronze in Deep
Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Wisp
Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Prenup
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop
