Delicate Fucking Flower

Lifestyle April 12, 2017

I decided to change my blog’s name from A.R.G. to Delicate Fucking Flower. For me, Delicate Fucking Flower, represents the multifaceted person that I am and with A.R.G. I didn’t always feel like that shined through. At least, not in the way that I wanted it too. I constantly felt torn between posting content that was related to feminism and content that was related to fashion. And, I was far too concerned with what everyone would think. Then I found myself asking, “Why choose?” and “Who cares?” I can be a feminist and love all things fashion, too. I don’t have to choose and I shouldn’t have to. I want to break down this binary way of thinking that I can only do one or the other, that I can only be one or the other, but never both. I say fuck that. Welcome to the adventures and musings of a delicate fucking flower.

Sincerely,
Alexis Renae Griggs

On Sunday, I spent the day with a few of my favorite people. We started out at Centrale Kitchen & Bar for brunch and bottomless mimosas. I had the Fried Chicken Benedict. It was delicious and a new spin on a breakfast classic. Afterwards, we wondered around the various shops that Miracle Mile has to offer. We stopped by Midtown Creperie & Cafe right before they closed for something sweet. I had the Soc AU’ LAIT crêpe with strawberries and bananas. Unfortunately I forgot to take a proper photo of my crêpe (it was that good) but if you follow me on my Instagram stories, chances are you saw it. Finally, we ended up at Taps Barrell House where we sampled several beers. Throughout all of it were great conversations and so much laughter that by the end of the day my cheeks physically hurt. It was a wonderful way to end my week. Also, be on the lookout for a blog post on the outfit I wore to brunch.

Last week, my brother Andrew cooked a four course meal for “all the single ladies” and his partner Veronica on Valentine’s Day. To say it was delicious would be an understatement. In fact, no amount of words will do this meal justice so instead I will leave you with these photos and be sure to check out La Famiglia Foods.

Galentine’s Day

Lifestyle February 13, 2017

galentines_day-2

For those of you who are not an avid fan of Parks and Recreation, like I am, then you probably have no idea what Galentine’s Day. February 13th is Galentine’s Day. While it’s not a nationally recognized holiday, it is, as Leslie Knope would say, “Oh, it’s only the best day of the year.” To me Galentine’s Day is a day to celebrate the incredible womyn in my life.

To the incredible womyn in my life:

You inspire me. You make me laugh and you are there for me when I cry. You are intelligent, talented, resilient, beautiful, and are more than capable of anything and everything you set out to do. I am always here for you, like I know you are always there for me. I support you and all of your dreams and I will always be here to cheer you on.

Happy Galentine’s Day.

Sincerely,
Alexis Renae Griggs
